February 27 - Week 3 video and week 3 stats are finished so give them a look. I have to update the League Leaders and the
Season stats as well, along with the Week 4 video that will be coming soon. Play of week #3 has been awarded so check that
out on the other page along with the play of the week too.
(Tuesday February 14) Week 2 went down on Sunday in the NFFL and everything seemed to go real well. As usual there were
many great plays on the field and as of Sunday afternoon we have our first undefeated and #1 ranked team in the NFFL - the
Atlanta Falcons. Ryan Lance led their franchise to victory today with his outstanding 12/13 receiving and added 1
interception and 3 touchdowns to his name. An unexpected injury to team captain, Matt Burgner, called for a substitution
and who else than the next season #1 projected player, Matt Loyd is there to fill his future roommates position. Loyd came in
and snagged a quick interception and added a truly amazing run to finish the day with his first NFFL career touchdown. Kyle
Schneekluth never disappoints as he put on a show of his own, with a series of diving catches, hoping to lead his team to
victory, but fell just short. In the Panthers - Falcons game, David Yi and Brian Baldwin put on a clinic, combining for 5
touchdowns, 2 interceptions and capped the game with a 6-2 win over Matt Paul's Bengals. For the Steelers - Greenbay game,
Doran and Mohler were running on all cylinders. They connected for 5 touchdowns and showed us all a preview of what they
can do when they are playing well. Jaik Ballback did his best to keep Greenbay in the game, but his 4 touchdowns proved to be
too little in this no holds bar game. Mohler and the Steelers didn't hold back this week, putting a controversial hit on
alternate, Nick Peterson, which led to the NFFL's first intense on field argument. For now, all is well , but we will have to see what
happens in week 3. New Video for Week 2 is up and the Player/Play of the game is on the Other page as well. David Yi and
Ryan Lance were extremely close in the running for top players but Doran's 5 TD's couldn't be overlooked. Enjoy the goods and
on to Week #3.
- (February 10) NFFL is on fire right now and the games for Week #2 are just two days away. We have some big match-ups
going down in this second week and I know everyone is pumped to get the action going. The Message Board is getting
intense and currently has 45 members online and posting. On the board you can find recent updates and write-ups from
several different members in the NFFL, most of which are very entertaining to read. On the field for week #4, look for some trash
talk going down between Cole Pass and John Fairbanks, both of which are guaranteeing victories for their team. John predicted
not only a victory but that Cole will be carried off the field in a stretcher when after he is done with him, lets keep it clean Banks.
As for this week, a good game between the undefeated Panthers and undefeated Falcons will go down this Sunday. Both teams have
"Player(s) of the Week" on their roster, so be sure to look for the Maxwell - Schneekluth connection as well as the Lance - Burgner
connection in full effect. Between the Cincinnati - Dallas game, the Bengals will be making a big push this week especially
with their new addition, Ryan Dupui. If Matt Paul can get it together, he will have 3 strong receivers to look for, those being:
Tomky, Fenton and Dupui. Coming off a week#1 upset, Dallas will look towards Yi to guide them in their short solid gains and
get some additional yardage from Baldwin and Durrenburger. In the final match up, Greenbay will be attacking with the league's
week#1 top ranked quarterback, Jake Wuebben to be connecting with his targets Tom Solis and Jaik Ballback. Packers
steamrolled though the Bengals in week 1 without their first round pick, Ballback, so we will see the type of performance the team
can put together with his presence on the field. Steelers will be facing up against the Packers, so well see what kind of a show Doran,
Mohler and Fairbanks can put on this week. Their team, having some of the top-plays of week 1, has the ability to connect and make it
happen as we have already seen, all they need now is to cap their incredible plays with the all important win. I'm pumped for Sunday and
can't wait to get the action going.
- Going into week #2 it looks like we have alot of buzz and anticipation for the upcoming match ups. John Kroopf did the honors
with his weekly wrap-up in the article you can read here: Kroopf's Corner : or also view from the Other page. I'm loving the
Message Board action. It has been a good place to get the latest on news and info in the league.
- It was great opener today and the games were intense. Over the 3 games played, there were some pretty amazing plays
from every team out there. I have to give QB of the day to Jake Wuebben, averaging 87% passing and completing 5
touchdowns and coming out with a win over the Bengals. Ryan Dupui and Krooph produced in the Alternates position
combining for 6 touchdowns and 1 interception. There were some upsets today in the Cowboy's - Falcons game, with the
Falcons coming out on top 6-5 and really making use of the Lance - Burgner connection. Other connections happened
between Wuebben - Solis, Pass - Yi, Maxwell - Schneekluth, Matt Paul - Fenton and the Mohler - Doran connection. I have a
Player of the Week as well as a Play of the Week announced on the Other page, so check those out. There is also a video of the
Week 1 games on the Video page that I hope will pump everyone up for Week #2. Sign on the message board and tell me
how you think things are going with the site, and any additional stuff you want to see as well.
- Today, February 3, the new NFFL message board is up. It should be a good place to check for newest info within the league
and to get some trash talk started before the 1st game this Sunday. Jake Wuebben said that the 1st round pick Jaik Ballback
is not going to make the first game of the season, so free agent, Ryan Dupui, will be filling in for Ballback's position. Two days
in counting until the first match-up being held at Anderson Field so be there to watch the action.
- Today, February 1, 2006 history has been made. The official NFFL league has been created and it could not have played
out any better. Draft day went down at 3:00 pm and was held at the home of the #2 pick in the draft, David Yi. Expectations
were high as the team captains were seated in their business chairs, waiting to see which team would pull the first draft pick.
Erik Eddington did the honors as he reached in the hat and pulled out the one and only Shawn Maxwell's organization, the
Carolina Panthers. Maxwell made a quick check over his notes and decided his first pick would be the predicted favorite and
anticipated Klye Schneekluth as his #1 pick. The remaining 5 teams draft order was announced and player by player, franchises
were built. As the draft continued, trades were made and players were shift around from team to team. The biggest of
the trades involved Matt Doran, the #3 pick, in a trade with Matt Burgner's Falcons. In this transaction, Burgner offered his
1st round pick, Doran, to Shaun Mohler's Steelers, in exchange for the opportunity to draft from the 6th and 7th picks, a move
my commentator John Krooph felt was poorly executed on Burgner's part. Personally I feel it was a fair move but we will have
to see how it plays out this coming Sunday. I am pumped up for the action and I'm just filming, so we will see how intense it gets
on the field. Check the Schedule for team match-ups and I'll continue to work on the site. - Ted Slaughter
